Maureen Denise McCormick is the daughter of Richard McCormick. She was born on August 5th 1956 on the outskirts of Woodland Hills California. Her father was a teacher as did her mother, who was a housewife. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three elder brothers. McCormick began singing and dancing in her early years and would often perform show-like puppets in front of the children from her neighborhood. At the age 6years old, she won her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley competition. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her to ask if the actress would be keen to work in showbusiness. McCormick got her first big role when she got a part in the 1964 television commercial of Mattels new baby doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in another commercial for Mattels Chatty Cathy doll and was later cast in the show the play Wind It Up And It breaks on stage at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick won the 1969 audition of more than 1200 children to become the oldest of the three twins in the TV series The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed together with Robert Reed. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick wrote in her 2008 book Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she nearly lost her virginity during the fifth season of the show to Barry Williams, her co-star and brother on screen. He was just 19. She was 16. The two of us could have been in a couple, she added. But the timing wasn't right.
